FOI Request - MOE-2023-32922 Copies of historic landfill sites within the Regional District of Central Kootenay, described by staff at the Ministry as follows: Balfour landfill, permit number PR-3889: numerous complaint / objection letters and related information filed during the years 1977, 1978, 1980 and 1983. The bulk of this correspondence of 69 pages is from 1977 and is related to the reclassification of the site from a Class B landfill to a Class A landfill as per earlier Ministry policies in existence at the time.
Boswell landfill, permit number PR-5991: One compliant/ information request from a concerned resident dated April 1980 and the RDCK response to the same; Submission by the Boswell Waste Management Group to the RDCK in December 2000.
Burton landfill, permit number PR-5065: Correspondence pertaining to public objections when the permit was being issued in 1978 (14 pages); Correspondence pertaining to public objections when the permit was being amended in 1993 (2 pages); Complaints received by the Ministry during various years (4 pages).
